2/8/2010-Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is preparing to unveil a new module for its Gmail email client designed to make it more social by allowing users to view a stream of status updates from other users they choose to connect with, The Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with the matter.

In addition, Google also plans to incorporate content from its YouTube video-sharing service and its Picasa photo-sharing service into the stream of status updates some time in the future.

A Google spokeswoman declined to comment to the Journal.
