Friday, Gannett Co. (NYSE:GCI) announced third-quarter results of $158 million, or $0.69 per share. In the same quarter last year, net income was $234 million, or $1.01 per share. Total sales for the quarter fell 9% to $1.64 billion, compared to $1.80 billion in the year-ago period. Analysts' expected third-quarter earnings of $0.75 per share.
